A City by the name of Bliss
Time seems to be split up into two, then and now. “Then” being any time before the incident happened.
Then
Bliss, a bustling city crawling with people who were all in a hurry to be somewhere right then and there. Over populated and crowded. People pushing past one another making their way to and from where they believe they need to be. Towering skyscrapers, busy subway stations and retail stores. People who were spending the day busily at their cubicles. Not a care in the world except making sure the new girl at Starbucks got their order right on the first try. A city that revolved around money. No time to slow down, a city that never sleeps.
But that all changed...
Now
It's been exactly one year since the incident. One year since the wall was built, it surrounds the entire city reaching miles high with no hope of breaching has become a tomb. Bliss, the once lively city is now lays in a decaying ruin, defeated and collapsing in on it's self. Skyscrapers have fallen into twisted heaps of metal and glass litters the ground. Fires broke out in schools and hospitals. Homes and cars were deserted in the mad dash to evacuate. Bliss is a dead desolate wasteland void of any hope.
Many waited for help, but it never came. Children were orphaned, families were divided, thousands were lost. There is no help. No one is coming for us.. There are very few survivors left even now and even fewer resources. The few that are left fight amongst themselves for food, shelter, weapons, anything and everything they can get their hands on but if you're lucky you may run into someone who may not be so selfish, may even be willing to help you but you have to remember, people may not be who they at first seem to be...
THE INCIDENT: August 13th 2016, a day that started like any other-
7:30AM, The streets were full of traffic making their daily commutes. Business men and women making their way to their tiny cubicles, parents taking their children to school and daycare and students speeding to get to campus after having over slept, even an old couple taking a stroll threw the park.
8:01AM, That's when it happened. What is now referred to as “The Incident” occurred. A Silence washed over the city as the military poured in surrounding the city limits refusing to let anyone leave but not giving any reason as to why everyone was being forced to stay. Anyone who tried to get past the riot police were shot on site. Then came the panic. Chaos broke out, fires started, people were screaming and running wildly through the streets. Buildings were collapsing left and right, glass showered down from broken skyscrapers as people jumped out of the windows yet to this day no one is truly certain what caused it, though many have their theories. Terrorists attacked, Quarantined because of some sort of chemical leak, madness.... but what was the real reason?
